The relay must be an 8-pin with a coil that operates at 220-240V AC. 8-pin means that it is a double pole double throw (DPDT) relay. The 'poles' are the switches that open and close as current is applied to the coil. The 'throw' indicates the number of switch positions available. The pole contacts only need to support a few milliamps of current, but most will support up to 10A / 240VAC. The 8-pin socket is sometimes included as well.
