Apr 22, 2019
As we continue to move all of our content over to our new site, we're stealing an idea from Wikipedia to make it clearer when a link points to a PDF document or an external website. For example, for a link to an external site look for a little box with an arrow immediately after the link, like so. We're also changing how external links work: They will no longer be forced to open in a new browser window or tab. Instead, the same window will be used. You may still open any link in a new window or tab (all modern browsers on desktops, phones, and tablets allow this flexibility). For example, in Google Chrome SHIFT-click to open in a new window, or CTRL-click to open in a new tab. This way allows you the choice of what you want to do instead of forcing you to always open new links in a new window. Choice is good!

Launched a new online shop at shop.TheElectricBrewery.com. For years now we've had customers asking if they can purchase the same quality parts we use in our control panels and other components for their own custom builds. After almost 10 years of picking through manufacturers to source quality parts, it made sense that people wanted to use the same parts we do. While we've always offered custom invoicing, to make things easier we're now proud to announce a new online shop with 150+ products to help with custom builds. The same quality parts we use ourselves. We've also been able to drastically cut shipping costs, especially on international orders, as much as 50-75% in same cases! This new shop is completely mobile friendly too - use it on any device. Interested? Start building your perfect electric brewery any way you like by visiting our new Shopify store at shop.TheElectricBrewery.com. Lots more to come! If you pick up a copy of the New York Times newspaper today there's an article on page D1 (just below the fold) that talks about homebrewers and mentions us. It unfortunately does not include any pictures of our setup as it was in pieces at the time awaiting a move to a new house. Unfortunate timing!

We're offering an alternate method for cutting the 22mm holes in the control panel which results in cleaner, perfectly centered holes with the least amount of work. It involves using a punch to make the holes instead of exclusively using a step drill bit. This is now our recommended method for creating the control panel 22mm holes, especially if you do not own a drill press. More information.

Added a Control Panel (Safe start interlock) guide. A safe start interlock only allows the control panel to power up if the pump and element switches are all in the OFF position. This interlock will also ensure that if power is ever cut, the pumps and elements will stay off until the operator turns them off and then resets the power. Adding a safe start interlock avoids harming the pumps, heating elements, and the operator.
