Our temperature probes use 3-wire RTD (resistive thermal device) Pt100 sensors instead of 2-wire K-type thermocouples (TC) as they offer greater accuracy over the brewing temperature range. RTDs also remain more accurate over time (less drift which means less re-calibration). To use, connect to a device that supports 3-wire RTD temperature probes such as our Electric Brewery Control Panels. Cable sold separately.
What size hole is needed for the M14x1.5 probe?
A 9/16" hole is required. We recommend using a hole punch. See our Boil Kettle instructions (STEP 2: Add a temperature probe) for more information.
Are temperature probe tips interchangeable?
Yes. Any of our temperature probe tips can be used with any of our temperature probe cables.
