Hallertau Tradition (or Tradition) is a German aroma hop variety released in 1993, bred for disease resistance and to succeed Hallertau Mittelfruh. It features a noble-type profile with earthy, floral, herbal, and mild fruity (apricot) notes. Smooth bitterness, ideal for pilsners, lagers, and wheat beers.

Note that Hallertau is a growing region in Germany and not a specific hop variety. The Hallertau region grows many types of hops with different flavours and properties.

Typical alpha: 4.0-7.0%

Possible substitutions: Hallertau Mittelfruh, Liberty, Crystal, Mount Hood
